Combining ability and genetic divergence among tropical maize inbred lines using SSR markers

Our objectives were to evaluate general and specific combining ability (SCA) genetic divergence among tropical maize inbred lines using single sequence repeat (SSR) markers. Thirteen crossed based on a complete diallel scheme. Hybrids three checks evaluated in lattice experimental design. Silk anthesis flowering, average plant height, ear white spot (Pantoea ananatis) gray leaf (Cercospora zeae-maydis) severity, grain yield evaluated. Significant differences (p < 0.05) for abilities observed all traits. Based additive effects, 1 (Flash) 12 (SG 6015) selected reduce the flowering period height.
